Deficiencies of orotate which can lead to back pains, neck pains and/or peripheral neuropathy could result from eating foods containing organic acids

Foods frequently contain organic acids, for example, malic acid, citric acid and/or tartaric acid. Organic acids in foods could react with bicarbonate in gastrointestinal tracts decreasing activities of carbamoyl-phosphate synthetase in gastrointestinal tracts decreasing levels of orotate which can lead to back pain, neck pain and/or peripheral neuropathy.
