Carotenoids that only quenched singlet oxygen and are not absorbed at all could favorably transform almost all of medicine

Updated: Jan 8

Dietary antioxidants are total and utter fails in treatments of illnesses. Systematic oxidant defenses are triggered by reactive oxygen species particularly o2 in gastrointestinal tracts but reactive oxygen species are neutralized by dietary antioxidants that have to pass through gastrointestinal tracts. See this post.

Lycopene is a carotenoid that has low systematic systematic bioavailability. Systematic bioavailability of lycopene is too high in dosages greater than 20 mg three times a day on basically empty stomachs. Lycopene supplemented has to be synthetic.

There are hundreds of different carotenoids but only 20 have been found in blood and/or tissues. There could be carotenoids that are not absorbed at all but which quench singlet oxygen producing O2 in gastrointestinal tracts.

Like lycopene a carotenoid that only quenched singlet oxygen and was not absorbed at all would have to be taken with a diet that was low in antioxidants. See this post.

Researchers are correct that lots of illnesses are connected to systematic oxidant stresses. Researchers however have only increased systematic oxidant stresses through prescribing dietary antioxidants.

Carotenoids that only quenched singlet oxygen and were not absorbed at all could favorably transform almost all of medicine by decreasing systematic oxidant stresses. Such carotenoids could be synthesized now. Such carotenoids would have to be synthetic.

Carotenoids that are not absorbed at at all would only be effective where dietary antioxidants except around RDA amounts of vitamin C and vitamin E have been eliminated. See this post.
